You want to take proper care of your sunglasses but don't know exactly how?

We got you ! We've created a guide for you that will help you get your glasses into top condition quickly and easily.

Step 1: Preparation.

Before you start, rinse your glasses under lukewarm water if possible. This will rinse dirt and dust particles from your glasses. This will reduce the risk of scratching your lenses.

Step 2: Now the actual cleaning begins.

Take a small drop of mild detergent - preferably PH-neutral. Carefully rub the detergent onto the glasses . Not just onto the lenses but also onto the frame and the temples. You should clean them carefully with your fingers .

Step 3: The next rinse cycle is ready.

Rinse your glasses thoroughly under lukewarm water , as soap residue can cause streaks and impair your vision.

Step 4: The drying process.

Use a soft, clean and dry microfiber cloth to dry your lenses. It is better to dab the lenses rather than rubbing them, as this reduces the risk of scratching them. The microfiber cloth itself can also be machine washed at a maximum of 40 degrees if it is very dirty.

This is what you should definitely avoid when handling your sunglasses:

  • Never leave your sunglasses in the sun in a closed vehicle! This can cause the frames to warp and thus negatively affect the fit.
  • After a day at the beach, always rinse your sunglasses with tap water before polishing the lenses. This prevents small grains of sand in the air from causing scratches in the mirror coating.
  • Sunscreen splashes are also a killer for your sunglasses. To prevent permanent stains from burning into the lenses due to exposure to sunlight, you should always clean such stains as quickly as possible.
  • Sweat is known to contain salt and is therefore a potential attacker on your glasses. Temples and nose pads, mirrored lenses and even printed frames are sensitive to constant contact with sweat and should therefore always be cleaned after intensive sporting activities.
  • Avoid using chemicals or coated paper towels, as these can seriously damage the coating on the lenses. You should also avoid cleaning with a T-shirt or other piece of clothing.

Proper storage of your sunglasses:

Store your glasses in a sturdy case and Always place the lenses upwards when you are not wearing them. This will increase their lifespan even further.

With this simple 4-step care guide and practical tips, your Phieres sunglasses will always remain in top condition and you will be a real eye-catcher with clear visibility.
